Find Your Voice.

As a classically trained opera singer, I strongly believe that through bel canto vocal technique one learns a heathy and sustainable way of singing which lasts a lifetime. My primary role, as a voice teacher, is to help every student achieve their full vocal potential. My teaching emphasizes proper posture, breath management, open throat vocal concept, vocal agility, even and balanced sound of the whole tessitura, and nurturing confidence.

I believe that every student has a unique vocal instrument, and I believe in structuring an individualized teaching approach. I love the process of helping each student grow musically and vocally. Many students are lucky to have a solid vocal foundation coming to my studio, and we continue to build upon it through new repertoire. Other students are less fortunate, and come to my studio with throat constriction and jaw tension, or poorly developed head voice or prominent chest voice, to name a few vocal maladies. However, with time, I help a student establish a heathy and unobstructed phonation through building their new muscle memory. I am always amazed by the transformation and proud of the progress.

I believe voice teachers are powerful role models. It is my obligation to have to 'do what I teach' , and continue to improve my own vocal technique and broaden my repertoire by actively performing. I am a better singer because I teach, and a better teacher because I sing. As a voice teacher and a professional singer I understand how vulnerable studying voice can be. Therefore, I continue to improve my own teaching by engaging in constant self-reflection. I treat my students with dignity and respect, I pour my knowledge into every one of them, I nurture and I challenge. I love what I do and teach. I hope that each one of my students becomes my partner on a journey of vocal discovery and growth.
